Mountain Life
Little River Escape, River Side Escape, and Mentone Mountain Escape all are located atop Lookout Mountain GA and/or AL. Flowing through RSE and LRE properties is the East Fork of the Little River which leads to the gentle, beautiful Lake Lahusage.
Located in the center of the “ABC Triangle” LRE,RSE, and MME are 1.5-2 hours from Atlanta, Birmingham and Chattanooga – the perfect distance for a vacation home or part-time commute.
Mountain Life is as quiet and peaceful as you want it to be. You can sit in hammocks, fish from the waterside, or float in the VERY lazy river. Or you can take advantage of community and local hiking, biking, paddling and other more active pursuits. Below are a few ideas.
Year Round
Cloudland Canyon State Park: Canyons, sandstone cliffs, caves, waterfalls, creeks, and woodland.
Lookout Mountain: More than 30 miles of trails and Point Park, a memorial park that overlooks the city of Chattanooga.

Desoto Falls (Tallest Waterfall in the State of Alabama): Take a few stairs to see one of the most beautiful sites in Alabama.
Little River Canyon: Miles of waterfalls and swimming holes (aka the Hippie Hole)
James H. "Sloppy" Floyd State Park: Part of the Appalachian Trail goes through the Park, great picnic area and playgrounds, paddle boat rentals, and scenic hiking trails.

Testimonials
"We were at out Tiny House mid-December and enjoyed the quiet, peaceful get-away. Even though the trees had lost their beautiful Fall leaves, it actually allowed us to see things we couldn't before! We could see the river flowing along beside us on the way to the buffet breakfast at Desoto Park Mountain Inn restaurant. There's just something about the sight and sound of mountain water! We actually missed the breakfast since it ended at 10, so we ate at the Mentone Market that day instead. That's become a go-to for us many times since it's only a few minutes from Little River Escape. We just love the hometown feel there. We drove to Chattanooga that weekend and took the Southern Belle Riverboat Luncheon cruise. It looked like there was so much to do there so we will definitely be going back. Other than that, we just enjoyed driving around Mentone and Fort Payne...looking, shopping, and eating of course. A few lazy, carefree days were just what we needed. We're looking forward to coming for another visit in January!" -- Kerry, LRE Owner
