What Is A Park Model RV?

What is a Park Model Recreational Vehicle (PMRV)?

A unique trailer-type RV designed to provide temporary accommodation for recreation, camping or seasonal use – NOT permanent residency. PMRVs are built on a single chassis, mounted on wheels, towable, have a gross trailer area not exceeding 400 square feet and are titled and registered just like any other RV. They are certified by their manufacturers as complying with the ANSI A119.5 standard for recreational park trailers, not the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requirements that manufactured (mobile) homes are mandated to comply with. The key distinction is that manufactured (mobile) homes aka Georgia Modulars, or “Mods,” are single-family dwellings greater than 400 sq.ft. that are designed and built for permanent residency under standards set by HUD. The manufacturer for River Ridge Escapes is approved to build cabins which comply with the standards for both temporary and permanent residency. Contact your local DOT regarding titling and registration requirements.
